In this month's learning event, Jean Marrapodi, Ph.D, CPLP. invites us to sample the available fare in the ever-present Social Learning Party. No, it's not a political group, it's a place where we'll learn to dabble with available tools to explore the realms of collaborative eLearning. During our time together, we'll gain a greater understanding of what Social Learning is, who's using it successfully and how it works through experiential activities.  You'll see how you can pivot from a top-down learning delivery mindset to an open, flexible - even opportunistic - mix in your learning ecosystem and leverage the power of existing learners in your organization and around the world.

Blue Ocean Strategy has resonated with over 3 million readers all over the world (the book has been translated in 42 languages) as a way to grow a business by increasing customer value and at the same time reducing costs. These tenants of Blue Ocean Strategy can also applied to Leadership. By thinking about leadership as a service that people in an organization either ‘buy’ or ‘don’t buy’, you can unleash the ocean of untapped talent and employee potential in organizations.

As learning leaders, we can help our organizations engage and help to unlock unrealized talent and energy. Join us for an engaging session with Philippe Latapie from Stratx.

We had a great event with an excellent turn out on Thursday July 16th  - our Greater Boston ATD Tech Fair.

We'll had experts in Storyline, Captivate and Camtasia available, design and Learning Management Systems (LMS) to help you think through app, process, and develop dilemmas you face on a day to day basis.

Each Subject Matter Expert had a table set up for participants to rotate through every 15 minutes and the discussions were insightful and offered great networking opportunities.

With 30 participants we had a great discussion with Jayne Johnson, who has led talent management and leadership development initiatives at GE, Deloitte and Keurig Green Mountain, as she reflects on her own professional journey. She will facilitate a discussion on lessons learned in building sponsorship at the “C” level and gaining support for development across an organization.

Our March 10th learning event brought Sarah Scala, Sarah A. Scala Consulting toour group to share her experience and expertise with Mentoring programs (both formal and Informal). Sarah has deep experience as both a mentor and protégé (mentee) and shared several approaches she created during her tenure with organizations like Kohler and Aurora University. We discussed how to determine a Return on Investment for a mentoring program and why mentoring is one of the best ways to strengthen skills and develop future leaders. Mentoring programs can be very simple or complex and our group learned that there is no "one size fits all" method to designing and implementing a program in your organization. ATD Greater Boston thanks Sarah for her energetic and informative presentation.
