Writing Effective Learning Assessments Workshop

Creating Effective Learning Assessments What is a Learning Assessment? Assessments are used to reveal how well learners have learned what we want them to learn. 
As you are designing learning for your organization or your clients: 

  • Are you challenged to create questions that are clear and yet not too easy or too difficult? 
  • Do you create your learning assessments as an afterthought, just before you launch your course? 
  • Do you need to spend a lot of time remediating failures? 
  • Do you work in a regulated industry? 
If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, this workshop is for you! Irene Stern Frielich, President of EnVision Performance Solutions, developed Creating Effective Learning Assessments and delivers it to clients and professional training organizations throughout the region. 
This session will focus on the art of creating test questions that are effective and appropriate. Through discussions, case study analysis, and real-world practice participants will be able to: 
  • Identify common issues with test questions. 
  • Rewrite test questions to avoid common issues. 
  • Use best practices to write test questions that effectively measure learning outcomes. 
The workshop is highly experiential, and you will be asked to send Irene 3-5 sample test questions you use in advance of the workshop. These will be incorporated into the workshop and shared with other learners, and you will leave the workshop with well-constructed test questions that you can immediately incorporate into your course.
