About the Facilitator
Karl M. Kapp, Ed.D., is a scholar, writer, and expert on the convergence of learning, technology, and business operations. He is a full-time professor of Instructional Technology at Bloomsburg University in Bloomsburg, PA. where he teaches several gamification and game design classes and serves as the Director of Bloomsburg’s Institute for Interactive Technologies.
Karl is widely recognized as the premier expert in the area of games and gamification for learning. He is a frequently sought keynote speaker and has appeared in conferences and learning events throughout the world, including China, Belgium, France, Finland, Mexico and Singapore.
He has written several books in the area of gamification and game-based learning including the bestselling learning book The Gamification of Learning and Instruction and its accompanying field book. Karl is also author of six video-based Lynda.com (LinkedIn Learning) courses including The Gamification of Learning, Gamification for Interactive Learning and Learning How to Increase Learner Engagement.
