Boston Learning Leader Panel

Wednesday, June 12th, 2019

Metro Meeting Centers

101 Federal Street

Boston, MA 02110

6:00pm – 8:30pm

Join us for this year’s Learning Leader Panel and engage with leaders from five local companies as they discuss their organizations’ challenges and their innovative solutions. Moderated by Margaret Driscoll Program Manager, Cognitive Skills & Knowledge Management at IBM, our 2019 panelists are:

Jill Cannuscio, Head of Enterprise Learning, SVP. Hear how Jill’s organization, Citizens Bank uses mobile learning and gamification to engage branch colleagues in learning and enhance product knowledge in their branches. They plan to leverage their successes and lessons learned to up-skill their internal resources as they apply this approach in other areas in the Bank.

Lou Cimini, former VP of Human Resources. Lou will share how coaching was implemented at Samsonite as a strategic tool for building an engaged workforce, and the associated results. Additionally he’ll share how the organization moved away from a “command and control” culture while migrating to a matrix structure.

Dan Collier, Senior Manager, Leadership and Professional Development. Dan will share the story of Fresenius Medical Care’s transformation from a traditional hierarchical leadership culture to one that leverages a “servant leadership” focus on mutual growth and development. Building on concepts from Robert Greenleaf, David Emerald, Maya Tamir, Ed Diener and others, our Leading with Values journey includes training that aligns leadership behaviors with our global core values.

Carlyene Prince-Erickson, Director of Employee Education and Leadership Development. At Massachusetts General Hospital, Carlyene’s group builds strategic partnerships to help cultivate an agile workforce and she will share the success story of their Workplace Education Program and the challenges of bringing workforce development/talent management to scale. The program is recognized among the oldest, continuously operating employer-based programs of its kind in the country.

Our moderator, Margaret Driscoll, is a program manager in IBM’s Talent & Transformation organization. She leads a global team of software developers and learning specialists delivering applications that fuse work and learning. Margaret is an active member of ATD’s Forum and her work has appeared in T&D@Work. Her new book co-authored with Saul Carliner, An Overview of Training and Development: Why Training Matters, will be released in May 2019.
