The ATD Greater Boston Chapter Special Interest Group on Learning Measurement Presents:

Using Learning Measurement Data with Key Stakeholders

July 29, 2020

2:00 PM to 3:15 PM

VIRTUAL WEBINAR - Link in registration email

This webcast is part 4 of a 4-part series on “Raising the Bar on Measurement: Building Your Strategy and Plan.” The focus will be on using measurement data with stakeholders in a way that demonstrates and enhances value and builds credibility. Tom Atkinson, the SIG leader, will present a brief case study on measuring a leadership development curriculum. He will then lead a discussion with a panel of L&D professionals, which will share insights and ideas based on their experience in multiple industries. We will use the chat and polling functions to ground the discussion in topics of greatest concern to the participants.

By attending the July 29th session, you will learn and discuss:

  • Key stakeholders of learning measurement - that is, who cares about results of learning?
  • How can we engage with stakeholders? - such as, getting executives’ attention and handling difficult questions or objections
  • What is the best way to plan for a stakeholder briefing? – we will provide a sample agenda

Introducing the Panel

About the Series: “Moving Ahead on Measurement: Building Your Strategy and Plan”

Many Learning and Development leaders are under increasing pressure to demonstrate and improve the business results of their programs, in order to justify the significant investment required to ensure their success. Often their efforts at measurement and evaluation fall short of their expectations, due to limited resources and competing demands on their time. The June 24 webinar is part of a 4-part series aimed at helping learning professionals “raise the bar” on measurement by sharing practical tools for measuring at all four Kirkpatrick levels - Reaction, Learning, Behavior and Results – and even Return on Investment (“Level 5”).

About the Measurement Special Interest Group (SIG)

The mission of the ATD Greater Boston Measurement SIG is to enhance members’ professional development in measurement and evaluation; to increase the effectiveness of their L&D organizations through measurement and evaluation; and to engage with the global community of L&D practitioners in applying measurement and evaluation to deliver performance and results through learning.

The group addresses a wide range of topics, from getting started in defining methods, tools and processes of data collection, to more advanced applications, such as, measuring technology-enabled and blended learning. We welcome members with little or no background in measurement and evaluation, through more experienced practitioners.

Why Consider Joining the Measurement SIG?

The benefits of participating in the group will include:

  • Enhancing your professional development in the area of measurement and evaluation
  • Sharing measurement challenges and gaining insight and advice from others
  • Engaging in dialogue with subject matter experts
  • Providing information, tools and advice to fellow L&D practitioners in your organization
  • Demonstrating to executive stakeholders how you are increasing performance and results through learning
  • Making a contribution toward advancing the effectiveness of L&D worldwide, through more robust measurement and evaluation
