Do you write learning assessments (aka “tests”) for your courses? Is it usually an afterthought? Do you feel stuck using assessments as a way to “check the box” rather than truly test learning? Would you like to explore common pitfalls and learn how to write effective questions?
If you said “yes” to any of these questions, you are not alone! In this interactive presentation, we will discuss the value of writing effective learning assessments. We will examine actual test questions, identifying at least 3 of the most common issues and related best practices that can be used to write more effective questions.
By the end of this interactive presentation, you will be able to:
- Explain the purpose of learning assessments and their role in the learning process
- Identify at least 3 common issues with test questions
- Write “better” test questions
About the Speaker
Irene Stern Frielich is founder and President of EnVision Performance Solutions, an award-winning custom instructional design and training consulting firm based near Boston, MA.
