Play to Learn: Creating Impactful Learning Games - A Hands-on Workshop with Karl Kapp, Ed.D

Thursday, December 7, 2017
8:30 am - 4:00 pm

This workshop bridges the gap between instructional design and game design. It is designed to grow your game literacy and strengthen crucial game design skills.

In this hands-on workshop, we will examine examples of in-person and online games. (Yes, you will be playing games, learning games, and working with entertainment focused games!) You will design a paper prototype of a game and walk through the nine steps of the instructional game design process -- from evaluating games to determining why they work to creating your own interactive learning game prototype.

The Play to Learn workshop will show you how to:

  • Evaluate games to determine what elements contribute to learning.
  • Apply agile development techniques to create engaging, learning focused games
  • Transform content into a learning game.

If you’re serious about gamification (!), this workshop is for you!

The cost of this workshop is $495 for non-members of ATD Greater Boston and $395 for members.  Workshop fee includes coffee throughout the day, a full lunch, and break snacks.

Black Friday/Cyber Monday Deal:  Register for this Play to Learn workshop between Black Friday and Cyber Monday and you'll be enrolled in the December 6th monthly learning event for FREE!
