Tech Talk: The Who, What, When and How's of Defining a Social Learning Strategy for your Organization

Have you recently found yourself scurrying about in response to your boss’s request to develop your company’s Social Learning Strategy? And by the way, development & implementation must be completed the end of Q2? Rest assured that day may come sooner rather than later.

Much to the chagrin of many, Social Learning is not a fad or the flavor of the month. It falls under the category of Technology Literacy and is one of the Foundational Competencies of learning and development professionals as defined in The ASTD Competency Model™ for 2013. It really does represent the future of training and development and will require major changes in how you do your work and, really, in how entire organizations function.

In his presentation, Bill will cover some of the key concepts in this emerging trend, including looking at some of the technology choices available to you and, more importantly, how to think about this movement even before you think about technology. He will offer best practices examples from industry leaders' Global Social Learning Platforms.

Bill Shander is Founder and CEO of Beehive Media, a digital strategy and design agency that works with knowledge-driven organizations. Based in Hopkinton, MA, Bill has been involved in the strategy and design of social learning platforms for multi-national corporations as well as startups. He has a BA in English from Wesleyan University and a MA in Journalism from The University of Colorado at Boulder.
